About This Event
This report presents an overview of the Media Literacy Education provided to 60 students in the Judo for Peace project, co-funded by the European Union. The programme was developed and delived by the Kilis Directorate of Youth and Sport (Kilis Gsim), project Coordinator. Held over the course of 17 sessions for a total of 20 hours per group of 30 participants for a total of 60 participants. The Judo for Peace Media Literacy Education Program in Kilis was conducted throughout the month of March 2023. The program began by addressing media usage habits and promoting a healthy relationship with media and technology. It emphasized the interrelation between form and content in media texts, emphasizing their aesthetic delivery. Additionally, students were equipped with technical and critical media literacy skills, including media production. The program also explored how media conveys values, ideologies, and truths, highlighting the subjectivity of audience interpretation. It concluded with an evaluation of the students’ newly acquired media literacy skills, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
